Professor Neil Shephard will be chair of the Department of Statistics at Harvard from 1 July 2019. He will take over from Professor Sam Kou who has ably led the Department through the 2018-2019 academic year while Professor Shephard has been on sabbatical. Neil Shephard is Frank B. Baird Jr, Professor of Science, Harvard University, holding professorships in the Department of Economics and Department of Statistics. He was chair of the Statistics Department at Harvard from 2015-2018.
