Preceptor Julie Vu Receives Excellence in Teaching Prize

We would like to congratulate Preceptor in Statistics Julie Vu on receiving a 2024 Excellence in Teaching Prize!  This inaugural prize recognizes outstanding teaching conducted by non-ladder faculty.  In particular, the Office of Undergraduate Education lauded Vu for her "commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive learning environment, orientation towards pedagogical innovation, and use of evidence-based teaching practices."  Some of the classes in which Vu has made an impact are Stat 100  (Introduction to Statistics and Data Science), Stat 102 (Introduction to Statistics for Life Science), Stat 108 (Introduction to Statistical Computing with R), and Stat 160 (Introduction to Survey Sampling and Estimation).
