Faculty Celebrate Chair Neil Shephard

The statistics faculty gathered for a special lunch in 316 (now the department's social hub again!) to celebrate the accomplishments of Neil Shephard during his time as Chair from 2015 to 2022.  The faculty appreciate Neil's outstanding leadership and support. 

For Neil, the highlights of his time as Chair have been to improve the experience of students, postdocs and faculty and to recruit a diverse group of new faculty.  The lunch was bittersweet for Neil and the faculty because it was both the first faculty lunch since COVID and the last one with Neil as Chair.  The Statistics Department congratulates Neil on his successful run as Chair! 

We look forward to our incoming Chair, Professor Sam Kou, who will be starting on July 1st, 2022.
