Pragya Sur Receives 2026 Noether Early Career Scholar Award

Pragya Sur

We are thrilled to report that Assistant Professor Pragya Sur has received the 2026 American Statistical Association (ASA) Noether Early Career Scholar Award due to her exceptional work. Prof. Sur will receive her award and give a talk, Modern Machine Learning Through the Eyes of a Statistician, at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) on August 5, 2026, in Boston.

The Noether awards started in 1999 in honor of Gottfried Emanuel Noether, a leading scholar in nonparametric statistics and a talented teacher.  The Noether Early Career Scholar Award is given annually to recognize the outstanding work of a young researcher and to encourage the work of future generations in nonparametric statistics research and teaching.
