Professor Lucas Janson Receives 2025 COPSS Emerging Leader Award
The Department of Statistics is pleased to share that Associate Professor Lucas Janson received a 2025 COPSS (Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies) Emerging Leader Award for his "contributions to statistical methodology, particularly methods that leverage machine learning for statistical inference on data that is high-dimensional or adaptively collected, and for commitment to teaching, mentorship, and outreach." This award is given annually to a maximum of eight early career statistical scientists in recognition of their accomplishments and potential for shaping their field and demonstrating leadership.
