Software Carpentry's mission is to help scientists and engineers get more research done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic lab skills for scientific computing. This 1.5 day hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design in R, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. We will also focus on how one can do this work on the FAS RC Odyssey cluster. There is a nominal fee for the workshop, and is open to everyone, though preference will be given to those who have or are eligible for RC accounts. More information can be found here and registration will open on Monday, June 22nd.
