The Harvard Department of Statistics is sponsoring Data Adventure Day held at the Harvard Maxwell Dworkin Building (33 Oxford St., Cambridge, MA 02138) and the Museum of Natural History (24 Oxford St.) on Friday, April 10th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. 

This event is designed to expose local public high school students to statistics and data science through hands-on activities and interactions with Harvard students, faculty, and staff.  Our event celebrates the contributions of statisticians and data scientists from a wide range of backgrounds and supports efforts to recruit the next generation. 

The schedule for visiting high school classes and their teachers will include:

  • 9:00-9:20: Registration/Trivia Activity - Geological Hall 100 (24 Oxford St., Cambridge)
  • 9:20-9:30: Welcome Session - Geo Hall 100
  • 9:30-10:00: College Panel - Geo Hall 100
  • 10:15-11:00: Stats/Data Science Interactive Presentation I (Maxwell Dworkin Building - multiple locations)
  • 11:10-11:50: Lunch (Maxwell Dworkin Building - multiple locations)
  • 12:00-12:45: Stats/Data Science Interactive Presentation II (Maxwell Dworkin Building - multiple locations)
  • 12:55-1:40 Museum of Natural History Data Activity -  Geo Hall 100
  • 1:45-2:00: Closing/Prizes - Museum of Natural History - Geo Hall 100
