Data Adventure Day Held at the Harvard University Science Center

The Harvard Department of Statistics, Department of Biostatistics, and the Harvard Data Science Initiative are sponsoring Data Adventure Day held at the Harvard University Science Center (1 Oxford Street, Cambridge, MA 02138) on Friday, November 8th from 9:30am to 2:00pm.
This event is designed to expose high school students to statistics and data science through hands-on activities and interactions with Harvard students, faculty, and staff. Our event celebrates the contributions of statisticians and data scientists from underrepresented groups, including women and people of color, and supports efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion in these fields.
The schedule for visiting high school classes and their teachers will include:
- 9:30-10:00: Registration/Trivia Activity - outside of Hall D
- 10:00-10:10: Welcome Session - Hall D
- 10:20-11:05: Museum of Natural History Data Activity - 24 Oxford St., Geological Lecture Hall
- 11:15-11:50: Lunch - Assigned location (either Cabot first floor, 7th floor lobby, or 316)
- 12:00-12:30: College Panel - Hall C
- 12:40-1:40: Stats/Data Science Activity - Assigned location (either Hall A, Hall E, B209, 316, 300H, 705, or 706)
- 1:45-2:00: Closing/Prizes - Hall C
