#  Professor Subhabrata Sen Receives NSF Career Award

 The Department of Statistics would like to congratulate [Assistant Professor Subhabrata Sen](/people/subhabrata-sen) on receiving the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award for his project on “Statistical Inference in High Dimensions using Variational Approximations.” According to [NSF's website](https://beta.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/faculty-early-career-development-program-career), the CAREER Award Program is one of the NSF's most prestigious awards and is awarded to "early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization." The CAREER Award will provide funding support for Professor Sen's research and educational initiatives for the next five years. Congratulations Dr. Sen!
