#  Professor Lucas Janson Receives the Bernoulli Society New Researcher Award

The Department of Statistics is pleased to announce that [Assistant Professor Lucas Janson ](/people/lucas-janson)received the [2023 Bernoulli Society New Researcher Award](https://www.bernoullisociety.org/index.php/prizes/15-features/278-past-new-researcher). According to the [Bernoulli Society's website](https://bernoullisociety.org/prizes/267-bernoulli-society-new-researcher-award), the award "recognizes the work of outstanding young researchers in the fields of Mathematical Statistics and Probability." As a recipient of the New Researcher Award, Dr. Janson has been invited to give a talk at the International Statistical Institute's World Statistics Congress Conference to be held in Ottawa, Canada, July 15-20, 2023. In 2019, [Assistant Professor Subhabrata Sen ](/people/subhabrata-sen)received an honorable mention for this award.
