Professor Joe Blitzstein awarded Harvard’s “Fannie Cox Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching”

The Department is delighted to report that Professor Joe Blitzstein has been awarded the “Fannie Cox Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching” by Harvard University’s Division of Sciences. The award “honors outstanding teaching in introductory science courses. Recipients are recommended by a faculty committee and are chosen based on their ability to inspire students, instill in them a passion for science, and effectively communicate complex ideas.”

Joe is the first non-ladder recipient of the Fannie Cox Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching.

Undergraduate Statistics Prize Setup

The Harvard Faculty of Statistics has setup an Undergraduate Statistics Prize.

This prize is awarded annually to the graduating senior concentrator who has the best overall performance (as indicated by coursework results and thesis) and who has contributed significantly to the department. Eligible students will be considered without application.
