 

#  Alex Luedtke Receives 2026 COPSS Emerging Leader Award

The Department of Statistics is pleased to share that Alex Luedtke, Professor in the Department of Healthcare Policy at Harvard Medical School and an Affiliate Faculty in Statistics, received a [2026 COPSS (Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies) Emerging Leader Award](https://community.amstat.org/copss/awards/leadership-academy) for his "fundamental contributions at the intersection of semiparametrics, causal inference, and machine learning; for leadership in vaccine trials and precision mental health; and for dedicated teaching and mentorship."

This award is given annually to a maximum of eight early career statistical scientists in recognition of their accomplishments and potential for shaping their field and demonstrating leadership. Congratulations, Alex!
