We're delighted to announce the promotion of [Lucas Janson](https://lucasjanson.fas.harvard.edu/) to Professor in the Department of Statistics! Professor Janson is a leader in high-dimensional statistics and machine learning. He has received numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER award, COPSS Emerging Leader award, Bernoulli Society New Researcher Award, and ASA junior Noether award. Widely recognized for his influential research, Professor Janson is also highly valued for his excellent undergraduate and PhD mentorship and dedicated service to our department and the broader statistical community.
