Neil Shephard has become chair of the Statistics Department. He commented on his new duties: "Statistical ideas are having a profound impact in science, industry and public policy. The Statistics Department at Harvard has pioneered many of these ideas in our research and in our teaching. I look forward to working with colleagues across Harvard’s remarkably vibrant statistical community to grow our Department."
