New colleague: Rafael Irizarry

The Department welcomes Rafael Irizarry as a Departmental affiliate faculty.  Rafa is Professor of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the Dana Farber Cancer Center and a Professor of Biostatistics at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.  He has tended to focus on the analysis and signal processing of microarray, next-generation sequencing, and genomic data, but has wide interests in statistics and their applications.  He has been teaching the Stat121 Data Science course for FAS.  Rafa has received many awards for his research including the 2009 Presidents' Award from the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS).
