We are delighted that Lucas Janson will join the Harvard Statistics Department on 1st July 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Statistics.  Lucas is currently a PhD student in statistics at Stanford.  Lucas describes his work in the following way: “I am interested in both theoretical and applied statistical problems. On the theoretical side, I am concentrating on high-dimensional statistical inference, robust machine learning, and robotic motion-planning. On the applied side, I have been fortunate to work with a number of excellent collaborators in fields such as immunology, surgery, and health care.”
